Hello! I’d like to welcome you to my legacy web blog, based on the lives of the Emmett family, a creation of mine from The Sims 3. The story began with Thomas Emmett as he moved into Riverview with limited money and a huge field, and is following his descendants through their lives as they continue his legacy. His story begins here.
If you’re familiar with my legacy, to see the most recent chapters you can simply look to your right and select a link from the ‘Recent Chapters’ list. If you’re a first time reader, you might want to start with the ‘Summary’ page at the top of the blog; it has a summary of each completed generation so far in my game. If you have a bit more time or wish to look at my legacy in more detail, head for theĀ ‘Chapters’ page, as it links to every chapter I’ve written so far. Clicking ‘Resources’ will take you to a list of Custom Content and mods I’m currently using in game complete with linkage; CC is a first for me with Sims 3 and I’m loving it, so I’ve got a bit crazy with it all! Clicking on the Family Tree section will take you to, funnily enough, the Emmett family tree, although this won’t always be fully up to date – kids won’t be added until they’re teenagers, as the pictures are a bugger to get right!! If you get lost with who’s related to who, just ask and I’ll clear it up. Finally, the Blog Roll section will link you to more legacies that I’m reading and following; please take a look at them, but please promise to keep on coming back to mine!
If you’re a fan of the Sims 3 and think this idea is rather marvellous, and want to start your own legacy challenge, follow this link to the rules written by the creator of the Legacy Challenge, Pinstar.
There is also a mini-side story running parrallel to the Emmetts, the story of the Haths. I began the Crazy Wacky Make No Sense challenge as a break from my legacy. It’s only updated periodically, but you can find the entries by clicking on the ‘The Hath’s Sidestory’ category on the side bar. The link to the rules of the challenge can be found in the first entry.
I really hope you enjoy this Legacy! Please feel free to leave comments on the different chapters – this is my first legacy, so I’m still learning with everything from writing style, page layout and even legacy gameplay, so any help would be greatly appreciated!! This goes for any questions you might have regarding the posts, I’d be happy to answer everything.
Thanks for visiting!!

hey, are you sianystar on the forum? I’m from hull too
what are the chances!
x
Hiya – yes, I am!! I know its incredible, especially with such a multinational site like the Sims Forum, I struggle to even find people from the UK!! Nice to meet you (: x
Lol I used to live in Hull for a while too and still visit friends there quite a bit (I’m just over the bridge now)…. such a small world.
Anyway I totally love your legacy, you have a really cool writing style, not to mention some awesome hair for your sims, where did you get it?
Looking forward to the next installment.
Wooow! Ah, this is why I love the internet! Thanks for the comment, oxoaureliaoxo, I’m actually just about to get some pics so that I can do a post with my favourite bits of CC featured in the legacy so far, and where to find them (:
Hey i added chapter 5 to my legacy (generation 1 ) can u check it out?
I did do! I commented and everything (:
Your blog is as equally genius as it is insane. I used to play Sims 2 and that game itself was so consuming, that to commit a blog to it would have been impossible. I am impressed by your resilience.
Thank you! To be honest, it’s probably a good job I do write this blog, otherwise I’d spend too much time on the game
Just wanted to say- that new sidebar of yours is quite spiffy! I haven’t even heard of the Late Night expansion, but now that you’ve mentioned bubbles, I’m dying for it to come out!
*gasp* You speak of the end of the legacy as if it is so near… O, my heart!
Apparently, I’m completely uneducated in the sim world, because I haven’t heard of the Apocalypse Challenge! But I just read through the rules to see for myself, and I must say, the challenge does sound interesting- and difficult. Whatever you choose to do next though, I’m sure it will be amazing.
Ooo, thank you! I think the expansion details were only released today, so it’s not like you missed out on a lot of stuff! October’s a long time to wait though
It is so near! Rose is getting old, generation 8 will soon be upon us! Then 9. And then… 10. The end. Finito! Can’t believe it!
Haha, I hadn’t even heard of ‘challenges’ full stop before the Sims 3 came out! I went through Sims 2 in a little bubble, didn’t even know about mods and CC. I’m going to do a blog about it though, definitely, though I’ve got my legacy to concentrate on first!
I have a question about your page and didn’t know where to ask so I figured this is as good a place as any sorry! How did you get just summaries of the chapters up on the front page? I have tried and tried and tried and can’t do it!
You use the ‘insert more’ tag. It’s between the ‘disable url’ and the spellcheck on the edit post page, it looks like a divided page
Hey Siany!
I just posted the first chapter of generation 6! It be great if you can check it out!
Hey Sian
I love your legacy, i finished it a while ago
i have a question for you. How did you get so many views? like, seriously! almost 100,000 views! please let me know
~Erin
Haha! I don’t really know to be honest. A combination of the blog having been around for two years, I have a linked banner in my signature on the official forums, plus I read a lot of legacies (although I do need to catch up atm) and their writers are kind enough to read mine in return
There’s no bonafide secret really!! -Sian
Hi there,
congratulations on completing your legacy! It must feel very good, what an achievement. To hear that you have completed it really boosts me to want to finish mine too
Someone tipped me about your legacy, since I’m putting together a Legacy Challenge Hall of Fame on the sims 3 forums, please check it out:

I hope you don’t mind me adding your legacy story there, although do you have a final score too that I can add?
